It’s hard to believe that I am actually typing these words, but we have received the final installment in the Charley Davidson series by the ever talented Darynda Jones. All good things must come to an end sometime, but as book lovers we hate to see favorite series’ end and miss out on new adventures with our friends. It’s especially hard when they’re as well written as these characters (and when you can see yourself so clearly in them, at times). The time has come, though, and the beautiful final book is here:

I have had the privilege to meet and speak with Darynda on several occasions over the past few years, at a few signings here in my hometown and the one time I was able to make it to RT. I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest and most genuine people that I have met. We chatted about tattoos, life in the little NM towns that we both know so well, and of course- books. I was lucky enough to be able to see her again for a signing of Thirteenth Grave this past weekend, and have a brief chat (and get a Darynda hug!).

Fear not, fellow Grimlets, there is more work from Mrs. Jones on the horizon!! I hear that there is a trilogy that has already been picked up & that we may even see a spin-off of our beloved Charley series at some point in the future!

So, for now, just re-read and enjoy this lovely series again. Maybe listen on audio if you haven’t already (Lorelei King is a treasure!). I’ll be sure to let you know when the next gem is announced!
